Prayer Mobilization for the City of Hong Kong

We believe that your unified, corporate prayers are very effective, so we hope that wherever you are, you will continue to join us in proclaiming relevant prayers and scriptures during the same time slot every Saturday between 9am to 11am.

The theme for this week: In reponse to our prayer, we thank God for the relief package intended to ease the inflation pressure. We press in with prayers.

Please pray for the following wherever you are so that our prayers will be lifted up to the Lord at the same time on Saturday from 9am to 11am:

(1) We pray for government leaders that they will continue to experience God's wisdom and righteousness in enacting righteous legislation in all areas.

(2) We pray for appreciation and thanksgiving in the heart of His people.

(3) We pray against any spirit of strife, anger and that God's peace, mercy and grace be upon our people and our land.

The theme for 12 - 18 July: We are concerned about the inflation of Hong Kong.

Please pray for the following wherever you are so that our prayers will be lifted up to the Lord at the same time on Saturday from 9am to 11am:

(1) Pray God will give wisdom to government to introduce relief measures.

(2) Pray for God's protection and blessings upon His people's wealth.

(3) Pray for repentance of greed, idolatory of Mammon, deceit, lies, pride, evil desires. Pray for release of heavenly wisdom, godly righteousness in the global financial world.

(4) Pray that God would release a spirit of generosity among the rich to help the poor.

(5) Pray that God will awaken man spiritually to find peace in eternal salvation and eternal reward.

(6) Pray for Jesus to speak peace to many troubled hearts.

The theme for the week 5 - 11 July: Serious road accidents have been happening on the Hong Kong roads:

* On May 1, a tour bus crushed in Sai Kung killing 19 people and wounded 43.
* On June 29, an out of control tour bus killed a girl pedestrian after crashing into 8 vehicles in Central , resulting in 32 injured and were all sent to hospital.

Please pray for the following wherever you are so that our prayers will be lifted up to the Lord at the same time on Saturday from 9am to 11am:

(1) Pray for Godˇ¦s divine protection over all the highways and roads in Hong Kong for safe vehicles and careful drivers.

(2) Pray against any kind of phobia when taking the tour buses or any kind of transport and against the traffic-law violators to be responsible in observing government instituted road safety laws.

(3) Pray for the families who have lost their loved ones in the accidents and ask God to comfort them during this time of grief. We ask for Godˇ¦s healing touch to be upon those who have been injured.

The theme for 28 Jun - 4 Jul: Based on a survey by HK Jayceettes Junior Chamber and Caritas of 1200 youths age ranging 12 years to 25 years whereby 63% of them has pre-marital sex and the youngest is 11 years old, please pray for the following wherever you are so that our prayers will be lifted up to the Lord at the same time on Saturday from 9am to 11am:

(1)   Pray in the power of agreement with Jesusˇ¦ prayer in Matthew 6:12-13 for our Lord to forgive our sins and lead us not into temptation but to deliver us from the evil one.

(2)   Pray for God to deliver them out of darkness into His light and that Godˇ¦s love will draw them to Himself. Pray today that the youth of Hong Kong will be consumed with a passion to know Christ.

(3)   Pray for those in authority over our children especially parents and schools to teach biblical principles of a God centered life based on righteousness and holiness.

1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 - It is God's will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God

2 Timothy 2: 22 - Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

2 Timothy 2: 25-26 - God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.

1 Corinthians 6:18-20 - Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit

1 Corinthians 10:13 - No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

Deuteronomy 7:9 - Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commands.

The theme for 21 - 27 Jun: With the looming outbreak of bird flu in Hong Kong and China, please pray for the following wherever you are so that our prayers will be lifted up to the Lord at the same time on Saturday from 9am to 11am:

1. Pray for God to give wisdom to the relevant authorities to take all the effective measures to stop a potential deadly outbreak of the H5N1 virus in Hong Kong and for effective cooperation with the Guangdong authorities.

2. We ask God to stop any illegal smuggling of poultry into Hong Kong.

3. Pray for Godˇ¦s provision for the chicken traders and sellers so that their livelihood would not be affected by the import ban and the closure of wet markets.

4. Pray for Godˇ¦s grace and mercy for a prevention of the outbreak to protect human lives.

Psalms 91:2-3 ˇV I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust". Surely He will save you from the fowler's snare and from deadly pestilence.

Exodus 23:25 - Worship the Lord your God, and His blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you.

The theme for the week 14 - 20 Jun:

1. We corporately praise and thank the Lord for answering our prayers re: Sichuan earthquake in the successful drainage effort of the Tanjiashan "quake lake" easing the danger threatening over 1 million residents living downstream.
2. We ask for the Lord's total deliverance of His people from the potential catastrophe to protect and preserve every precious life.
3. Please pray for God's continual protection, wisdom, strength and provision for the soldiers and engineers working in life threatening condition for this life saving project.

Psalms 66:8-9 - Praise our God, O peoples, let the sound of His praise be heard, He has preserved our lives

The theme for the week 7 - 13 Jun: In view of the devastation from the recent earthquake in Sichuan and cyclone in Myanmar, please pray for the following wherever you are so that our prayers will be liftd up to the Lord at the same time on Saturday from 9:00 am ˇV 11:00 am

Pray that God will ease the pain of the parents who lost their children during the earth quake. It was International Children's Day last Sunday and all around the world people were celebrating with their children, whereas in Sichuan, parents were mourning over the loss of their beloved children.
Pray that the people building the "tofu" construction will be brought to justice.
Pray for the teachers to overcome their sorrow and to have the strength to continue leading the young generation with wisdom and knowledge.
Pray for all those who are suffering and mourning, especially the little children orphans.

There are so many things we have to pray for......

PLEASE join the Christians to pray at the China Prayer Day in Chater Garden on June 11 from 10am-10pm. Special candle-light prayers from 7pm onwards.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4  The God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.

Matthew 5:4 Blessed are those who mourn: for they will be comforted.

Psalms 34: 18 - The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

James 1:27 - Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress.

Amos 5: 14-15 Seek good, not evil, that you may live. Then the LORD God Almighty will be with you, just as you say he is. Hate evil, love good; maintain justice in the courts. Perhaps the LORD God Almighty will have mercy on the remnant of Joseph.

The theme for the week 31 May - 6 Jun: In view of the devastation from the recent earthquake in Sichuan, please pray for the following wherever you are so that our prayers will be lifted up to the Lord at the same time on Saturday from 9:00 am ˇV 11:00 am:

1. Protection, wisdom, strength and provisions for the 2,000 soldiers and engineers who are working in life-threatening conditions to prevent the dam from bursting which would cause catastrophic floods
2. That God will prevent the breaking of the dam
3. For Godˇ¦s grace and mercy upon the 1,000,000 earthquake survivors and rescuers that live downstream

The theme for the week 24 - 30 May: In view of the devastation from the recent earthquake in Sichuan and cyclone in Myanmar, please pray for the following wherever you are so that our prayers will be liftd up to the Lord at the same time on Saturday from 9:00 am ˇV 11:00 am:

1. Rehabilitation of the survivors--medical treatment and trauma counseling.
2. Reconstruction of homes, churches, schools, businesses and public buildings. Pray that better building materials would be used and that safe building standards would be strictly enforced.
3. Pray that dishonest contractors who built shoddy buildings that led to an increase in the numbers of innocent casualties would REPENT and be put to justice.

4. Continue to show love and support to those who have lost their loved ones.
5. Pray for healing and comfort for all those who are sick or hurt, especially the children and students.
6. Pray that more money will be poured in for the re-construction and restoration of the area.
7. Pray that the money and aid would be put to good use and that survivors would be directly benefitted.

8. No more earthquakes, aftershocks, tremors and floods in the region.
9. Adoptions of orphans would be expedited
10. Effective sanitation measures to prevent an epidemic

11. Better unity and love among nations
12. Open more doors for people to receive the gospel.

The theme for the week 17 - 23 May: Please pray that God will bring immediate relief, shelter, food and health care to those who have been affected by the earthquake in Sichuan, China; that God would provide wisdom, strength, compassion and resources to health care and relief workers; for Christ to reveal Himself to those who despair, giving them hope and peace.

Matthew 4:23 ˇ§Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.ˇ¨

Matthew 24:14 ˇ§And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.ˇ¨

The theme for the week 10 - 16 May: We ask for prayers to be lifted up for our Youth, especially those with any form of addiction and substance abuse, pray that God will break every form of bondage, including electronic, alcoholism and drug addiction. Please pray that God will heal their bodies, that wise counselors will bring intervention and help; that substance abusers will turn from self-centeredness to living their lives for Christ in righteousness and purity.

Psalm 144:12 ˇ§Then our sons in their youth will be like well-nurtured plants, and our daughters will be like pillars carved to adorn a palace.ˇ¨

Psalm 144:15 ˇ§Blessed are the people of whom this is true; blessed are the people whose God is the LORD.ˇ¨

Isaiah 14:3 ˇ§On the day the LORD gives you relief from suffering and turmoil and cruel bondage.ˇ¨

The theme for the week 3 - 9 May: As the Olympic torch relay comes through our city on May 2nd, please pray in advance that law and order will be maintained, and that peace and harmony will not be disrupted.

Psalm 106:3 ˇ§Blessed are they who maintain justice, who constantly do what is right.ˇ¨
Matthew 5:9 ˇ§Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.ˇ¨

The theme for the week 26 Apr - 2 May: Please pray that God will equip all doctors, nurses, health care workers of every kind to serve others with loving hearts; that God will bless them with perseverance and joy; that the pressure of their professions will not crush their families and friendships; that many will follow Christ and tap into the power of His love to help them face all their challenges and struggles.

Psalm 41:1-2 ˇ§Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble. The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.ˇ¨

The theme for this week: MARKETPLACE
- Ask God to bless those who base business practices in righteousness
- Pray that God will prosper those who pursue their business as mission for God's kingdom
- Pray for the gospel to spread in the marketplace
- For righteous managers and executives; for creative, godly entrepreneurs, pray that God would frustrate plans which escalate injustice and shake the dominion of mammon and greed.

Deuteronomy 8:18 ˇ§But you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who is giving you power to make wealthˇKˇKˇK..ˇ¨

Matthew 6:24 ˇ§No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.ˇ¨

The theme for the week 21 - 28 Mar: "As tomorrow is Good Friday, this reminds us we are redeemed at a great cost, and as followers we are to deny ourselves and take up our cross to follow Him. Let us pray that all believers will make that decision and commitment to take up our cross to follow Christ, so the body is alive and full of the transforming power to make this city pleasing to God."

The theme for the week 16 - 20 Mar: "He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers." In view of the recent sex-photo scandal, we beseech you to fervently fast and pray for Godˇ¦s grace and mercy. We believe that unified, corporate prayer is most effective, so we hope that wherever you are, you will join us in proclaiming relevant repentance prayers and scriptures during the same time slot every Saturday between 9am to 11am from February 23 onwards.

The theme for the week 1 - 7 Mar: "To pray for God's refining Fire to purify His Church which is His Bride. Once purified, the Church can come before God on behalf of the city and ask God to intervene with His vast power, subduing dark evil powers and spiritual enemies."
