Global Day of Prayer 2008 Traffic Arrangement
Special Traffic Arrangement
The
following traffic arrangements will be implemented from 1:00 pm to 8:00
pm
A. At the commencement of the event
1. Road Closure: Stadium
Path & Link Road
2. Traffic diversion
i. A section of Caroline
Hill Road between Eastern Hospital Road and Leighton Road will be re-routed
one way southbound;
ii. A section of Caroline
Hill Road between Eastern Hospital Road and Cotton Path will be re-routed
one way Northbound;
iii. A section of Eastern
Hospital Road between Caroline Hill Road and Cotton Path will be re-routed
one way Northbound;
iv. If necessary, Link
Road downhill vehicular traffic to northbound Caroline Hill Road will
be diverted to turn
left onto westbound Leighton Road;
v. If necessary, Link
Road downhill vehicular traffic to Eastbound Leighton Road will be diverted
to turn left onto west
westbound Leighton Road;
vi. Westbound Hysan
Avenue between Yun Ping Road and Sunning Road must turn left to Sunning
Road;
vii. Traffic cones
will be laid on a section of Caroline Hill Road between Leighton Road
and Link Road to allow
two lanes of traffic entering Caroline Hill Road from Hoi Ping Road;
3. Passenger alighting
arrangements (click
here for the map)
i. The drop-off zone
for coaches will be at the kerbside of Caroline Hill Road outside South
China Athletic Association
and Eastern Hospital Road outside So Kon Po Recreation Ground (please refer to the blue zone
of the map);
ii. The drop-off zone
for taxis will be at the southern kerbside of Eastern Hospital at the
eastern side of the
Stadium main entrance (please refer to the red zone of the map);
iii. The drop-off zone
for private cars will be at the northern kerbside of Eastern Hospital
Road at the eastern
side of the Stadium. Private cars are not allowed to drop off outside
the main entrance of
the Stadium. (please refer to the green zone of the map)
B.
At the closure of the event
The following traffic arrangements may be implemented on conclusion of
the event at about 5:30 pm for the dispersal of crowds:
1. Road Closure
i. Caroline Hill Road;
ii. Eastern Hospital
Road between Stadium Path and Tung Lo Wan Road;
iii. Link Road between
Caroline Hill Road and Broadwood Road; Downhill vehicular traffic will
be directed to Broadwood
Road instead;
iv. During the crowd
dispersal, the whole Caroline Hill Road, and a section of Eastern Hospital Road between Stadium
Path and Tung Lo Wan Road may be closed to vehicular traffic by Police
to facilitate the dispersal of very large crowds should the situation
warrants;
2. Traffic diversion
The traffic in Causeway
Bay from Morrison Hill Road and Leighton Road to South China Athletic Association, EMSD Workshop
& C.A.S. Headquarter may be suspended or diverted when necessary.
3. Stacking areas for
the coaches (click
here for the map)
i. Stacking areas for
the coaches will be at Caroline Hill Road outside South China Athletic Association, Eastern
Hospital Road outside So Kon Po Recreation Ground & Cotton Path outside
Disciplined Services Sports and Recreation Club. (please refer to the
orange zone of the
map)
ii. Only coaches
with permits issued from organizer will be allowed to stop at the stacking
areas. Please fill in the Coach
Permit Request Form and fax to 2893-4800 if necessary.
iii. Since the expected
number of coaches is numerous, coaches will have to enter the stacking area in different time
slot.
4.
Please use public transport to leave the venue.
